When someone tries a scam using a branch of the US Military, you might think that with all the informational resources available on the web, that they could make their scam at least somewhat believable.

Meh...like today's democraps who think the majority will believe anything put out on cnn, scammers just throw together templates and expect a score.

Like this one apparently did:

Okay.  I kept the response simple:

Fine.  Tell me more.   

It took a day, but it became clear that my "A Sgt." was a woman, or at least pretending to be one, like we see a lot of these days.  At any rate, 'she' repeated 'her' original message, and worked in some frills and dressing as 'she' went along:

Note; I do not know how long we are going to remain here in the USMC and my fate since I have survived much attacks here, which prompted me to search out for a reliable and trustworthy person to help me, because I will be coming over to you to start a new life not as a soldier anymore but i have suffered so much here in Afghanistan.

The recently appointed Subtractmiral of the Bidumb regime would probably not be amused by being easily and frightfully outwomaned in this way.  But I digress.

Rather than edit this poignant, minefield-of-a-template, I decided that I'd let my 'heart of granite' pet rock, Seymour, handle the reply to the good Sarge.  He didn't disappoint:

I find that the scheme you offer up here is meant to be seductive, though not as seductive as your alluring pair of...uh...eyes.

Certainly the funds have a degree of attractiveness, no question.

But then you threw in the hint at matrimonial stuff.

Having been in a combat zone as you hint to having been, you know that there are similarities in post-matrimony that give a bachelor pause.

And as such, it suggest caution in proceeding with such a proposal.

That said, I will sincerely entertain your proposal in the manure that it deserves to be considered.  In the meantime, you did ask for a picture of me.  Here's my most recent effort to present myself in a most favorable light:

Auto Bet On More Variants

The "fourteen days to flatten the curve" just keep growing.

So does the abject BS behind it.

I was recently amused to hear a report locally that about a dozen zoo animals at the Denver (CO) Zoo had tested positive for the COVID 19 virus.

Lions and tigers.  Bears were not mentioned.

Oh my.

The story indicated that the animals displayed symptoms like coughing and sneezing.

None wound up on ventilators and none died.

There was no mention of vaccine mandates.  And I don't reckon they took well to the swab test.

My pet rock, Seymour, suddenly went *TOING* and asked if I'd heard that at a car dealership locally, a percentage of the vehicles had come down with CARVID 19, causing great consternation in news rooms hereabouts.

I had to admit that I'd missed that one.

At any rate, Seymour thought it'd be useful to publish his claim on one of my social media sites.

The results?  An interesting back 'n forth between Seymour and a commenter from the state of Georgia:

Your post has grave consequences. I have questions. Is this a pandemic or an epidemic? Will foreign oil cure the innards of the cars? Will domestic gasoline be able to clear out those fuel injectors in time? The Air Filter has now become an all important protective device. Furthermore a diaper must be put on all exhaust pipes to stop the spread of the CARVID-19 Virus. Thank you for informing us all of this deadly outbreak. Your contribution is invaluable.

It seems to fall in the autos-no-longer-immune cartegory. Domestic vs foreign oil dependzoil on the grade. All cars will be required to wear masks over their grills.

 Consumer Retorts will shortly publish a survey of the Top and Bottom 10 Vehicle brands most and least likely to suffer ejectile dysfunction in their fuel systems as a result of CARVID 19 exposure.

 Remember, we're all in this together...unless it's a smart car.

Damn I forgot about the ejectile dysfunction. Maybe Pfizer can make a Viagas additive.

It's out for bid between Pennzoil, Castroil, Immobile 1 and Oliveoil, if Popeye signs on.

Regarding Pfizer, their efforts at an auto version of Viagra met some difficulties when, in field tests on used cars, it operated more like Niagra, showing significant fall off in performance. Your car's results may vary...

Not sure who'll pick up Seymour's post and run with it as a news story, but I can tell you that cnn and ms13nbc are stupid enough to do so.

Lecture Time's Over

Alec Baldwin.  Actor.  Anti-2nd Amendment activist.  Arrogant leftist virtue-signaling lecturer to the deplorables, like me.

Some time ago, Baldwin -- on one of his anti-gun rants and in this case appearing to be referring to a  police shooting -- pondered "I wonder how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone?"

Thanks to an inexcusable and tragic lack of gun safety training and simple common sense, now he knows.

At a movie site where he is co-producing, he -- with a 'prop gun' -- shot and killed a colleague.

Sure:  it's being treated as an accident.  Perhaps that's what it was.  And I reckon that if it was, Baldwin feels beyond awful about it.  As an accident, it's tragic...and was so preventable.

Whether it'll cool his jets about his anti-2nd Amendment fervor and his personal distain for the NRA, and replace it with more of a sense of advocating proper training and basic safety, remains to be seen.

Too late now, but if he'd bothered to read a little bit of simple safety literature from an organization he loves to demonize, he would still be just stupidly speculating about what he now knows as part of his chosen narrative.

 The authorities at the scene in Arizona have some investigating to do, to be sure.  And questions to be answered.  Like for example, how did a 'live round' wind up in a movie 'prop gun'?

And another:  why did Baldwin point and fire the 'prop gun' that was allegedly 'cold', at an unintended target (aka, his colleague)?

Baldwin and I aren't that far apart in age, though we are farther apart in ideology.  When I grew up, basic gun safety was taught by the NRA and I attended NRA safety training in school.

Even the most rudimentary rules of gun safety are anywhere you want to be, and in general are pretty common sense to folks that have common sense.

There's more than a few right ways to handle firearms safely and responsibly.

And more than a few wrong ways.

I've had NRA basic and combat firearm training.  A whole lot of stress on safety went with it.

I never accept a firearm handed to me by anyone that I haven't first observed them to unload, and me to confirm it's unloaded.  Simple basic common sense and ALWAYS STRESSED in firearms safety training.

No one's ever been shot accidentally or otherwise by any of my firearms.  Including me.

It is reported that employees working on this movie Baldwin was co-producing had, shortly before the shooting, walked off the set due to concerns about safety to the staff.

What a tragic and senseless way to emphasize a point.

Anyway...anti-gunners will continue their pogroms on the NRA and law-abiding citizens, while drawing the entirely wrong conclusions from places like Shotcago on any given weekend.

And they'll continue to virtue signal and lecture us 'deplorables' about the evils of our gun-owning ways.

They'll choose to overlook that criminal gun violence occurs because criminals don't give a rat's ass about any law written.  Which is why they're criminals.

Gun control laws only impact law-abiding citizens.

But it would behoove those who choose to campaign against guns to, at the very least, understand the most basic of safety rules when it comes to handling guns.  ANY guns.

At least in that way, perhaps current and future entertainment colleagues in Hollywood and elsewhere won't wind up as wrongfully killed statistics.
