How I Authenticate Email With Scammers

A few days ago I got a request from an email service.  It didn't say WHICH email service; it was just "a" email service.

They said they're cleaning up accounts and wanted me to authenticate mine.

Of course 'they' do.

Well, here's how I 'authenticate' an email account for a scammer, regardless of who/what/when/where and why that scammer is.

First, their email to me; then my somewhat diplomatic (not) response.
